Lazy Girl Hair Routine + Products I’m Obsessed With

If you know me personally, you know I hardly do anything to my hair! Confession: I didn’t even like brushing my hair until I was in college. Yeah, I know. It looked tamed from a distance but it was a rat’s nest underneath. It was for a good reason though! Brushing out my hair instantly turned my semi-curly locks into a frizzy afro. Whatever I could do (or not do) to tame my hair was my go-to hair routine, which coincidentally meant washing and air drying.

Right before my 20th birthday though, I walked into a salon with brunette hair and after a lot of bleach walked out with a beautiful balayage. Even though the hair was a nice change, all I could think of was, “great, now I have to style my hair.”

The bleach obviously damaged my hair a little, so I had to find a way to style my hair without heat on casual days. That’s where these babies came in handy:

Head and Shoulders Instant Relief Scalp Soother

I have dandruff and it tends to spike when my allergies get bad or when there’s a sudden change in weather. It’s unfortunate and very inconvenient, but this product helps on the itchy days! I watch quite a few YouTubers that go four to five days without washing their hair. I would be a dry, itchy mess if I even attempted it, haha! Currently, I wash my hair every other day or sometimes every three days if my dandruff cooperates. I apply this scalp soother in the spots where my head is flaky and itchy. It is safe for color-treated hair and the peppermint complex is soothing to the scalp.

DevaCurl Supercream Coconut Curl Styler

DevaCurl’s curl styler, for one, smells the best out of all the products in his post. I got my small sample from BeautyCon Dallas a while back and I never got to use it until now. What I like about this cream is that it’s lightweight and it really is good at defining the ends of your curls. I even use this product when I apply heat to my hair because it’s so good!

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product

If you choose to try anything in this post, PLEASE TRY THIS LEAVE-IN PRODUCT. This is such a game changer to the hair game and I don’t know how I went this long without using it. I have uncontrollably frizzy hair, especially when I wake up. This leave-in product totally takes away my frizz and makes my hair so manageable to style with or without heat. Bonus: it’s also a heat protectant!

Not Your Mother’s Beach Babes Soft Waves Texturizing Spray

I’ve used these last two items for years! This is my OG texturizing spray. Whether you want to put it in newly curled hair to make a messy, textured look or put it in a wet bun and let it work its magic, this product will show awesome results! You can find Not Your Mother’s at ULTA, Walmart, Target, Walgreens – practically everywhere. The price point is not so bad either, so pick it up and give it a spin!

TRESemmé Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray

When I say this hairspray has been through it all, it has really been through IT ALL. From my dance recitals when I was six to even casual date nights with my love, this hairspray reigns supreme! TRESemmé is great at making products that do the job without making your hair look like it has product in it. Some hairsprays make your hair look crunchy and even too perfect at times. The finish of this one, though, is natural and long-lasting! 10 out of 10 – would recommend!

This is my Lazy Girl go-to hair look:

1. Wash hair thoroughly.
2. Coat my hair in It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In.
3. Spray a tiny amount of Not Your Mother’s Texturizing Spray or apply a mousse for texture.
4. Split my hair into two parts and braid. Secure with an elastic and round the ends.
6. The next morning, apply the DevaCurl Supercream to the braids while getting ready and eating breakfast.
7. Before leaving the house, undo the braids! Shake and secure with hairspray!

**** Use the Head and Shoulder’s Scalp Soother during “no wash hair days” when necessary.

  • Okay girl I’m loving this little routine you do. I do something similar minus the texturizing spray but I really want to try that! The Its a 10 spray is such an OG favorite.

It’s super cool to hear that someone else is doing a similar hair routine. Texturizing spray is great, girlie! You NEED to try it! xx

Thanks for reading, Tiffany! Try it out! It’s a quick, easy way to give your hair texture if you don’t have time to take a curling wand to it! xx

  • For Not Your Mother’s Beach Babes Soft Waves Texturizing Spray does it make your hair crunchy? I’ve wanted to try it for a long time but I’m looking for soft texture – not the mousse crunch feel

    • Jordyn Pamela

I don’t think it makes my hair crunchy at all! The mist is very fine when the product comes out, so I think that helps. Another one I recommend if this cheaper alternative doesn’t work for you – Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1 xx

  • Nicole Locorriere

I’m the same as you with not wanting to do a lot to my hair! But I have a ton of it, and it’s super long, so I have to put in a little work or it’s just impossible. Thanks for the great product recommendations! I’ve heard of most of them but never tried any, so I’m glad for the reviews so I know what’s worth trying.

    • Jordyn Pamela

Oh, honey I hear you! I have a lot of hair. It may not be super super long but it is very thick. Try my routine! It probably looks a lot prettier with longer hair anyway 😉 Let me know how it goes! xx

  • DevaCurl Supercream Coconut Curl Styler sounds like something I need! My curls get pretty crazy and I’m too lazy to do some elaborate routine. Lucky for me I don’t have an oily scalp so I can get away with not washing them for a few days.

    • Lucky girl! I wish I could go days without washing my hair. It would make my mornings a lot easier, haha. xx

  • I can totally relate! I’m so lazy when it comes to my hair and just can’t be bothered to commit to an hour-long hair routine. It’s poofy and lifeless And I always just wear it in a bun :O Can’t wait to check out these products, especially the Not Your Mother spray. I’ll check if it’s available in Europe, and if not, will order it online. Thanks for the great post! Xx

    • Perfect! There’s nothing wrong with rocking the bun every once in a while. When my hair is in a bun, everyone knows I MEAN BUSINESS. If it’s not too much of an inconvenience to you, let me know if you like it! xx

  • Krista Aoki

This is awesome! I have naturally wavy hair that I need to learn to take care of. I normally just straighten it, but this is a good go-to tutorial for my lazier days!

    • Straightening has always been my go to when I style my hair. Let your hair follicles breathe, Krista! Try this routine and save the heat for the super important days. That’s what I do!

  • Miranda Knudtson

The “Its a 10” miracle leave in actually sounds perfect for me. I had a hair mishap a few months ago where my stylist dyed my hair RED (from blonde) when I told her I didn’t want to go red—well had to go to someone to get it fixed and its extra frizzy from the bleach. Fortunately not as fried as it could be, but I’m straying away from using heat. These are great ideas! Thanks!

    • It’s a beautiful product. The line also has a “lite” version which is beneficial for blonde hair, so maybe look into that. Another thing I would recommend is using Lush’s R&B for the ends if you’re frayed on the edges. The cream makes your ends look super healthy and moisturized! xx
