I spent the beginning of the week in Las Vegas with my family celebrating my cousin, Keoki’s high school graduation. Keoki’s family has always been very close to us since I was born so it was no question that we would fly over to visit! Even though we were only there for a quick weekend, our family made a trip out of this occasion and visited new and great places.
Shopping at The LINQ Promenade
My brother’s one request was to go to the shopping center outside of The LINQ Hotel – The LINQ Promenade. This place has everything from souvenir shops to restaurants to even the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM! Aside from the dining and shopping, the scenery is just beautiful! When you are standing in the middle of this street you will see the Las Vegas strip to the left and the High Roller, a Las Vegas’ “London Eye,” to the right.
One shop my brother had in mind in visiting was 12 A.M. Run Las Vegas. The company was started by the Nas and it is a sneaker boutique in a nutshell! The location features new shoe styles and brands normal shops do not sell!
Sushi Burritos at Tail & Fin
My family and I are from Hawaii so we all have poké and sushi in our hearts! Sushi is my parents’ sweet spot and they found this place the last time they visited Las Vegas. Even though I never added sushi burritos to my list, I’ve always wanted to try a sushi burrito! My sushi burrito from Tail & Fin was the bomb! I had a create your own sushi burrito which had soft shell crab, unagi sauce, cucumbers, seaweed salad, edamame, and furikake. All of the toppings were very filling so I did not finish the sushi burrito but I loved it none the less!
Observing the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden
Many may not know this about me but the conservatory in the Bellagio casino is my absolute favorite place in Las Vegas. The conservatory changes its exhibits every month and uses greenery and floral design to fit the theme and fill this space with beauty! The exhibit, The Tour of Italy, in these photos features 57,000 flowers and many shrubs and trees as well. The entire conservatory smells so fresh!
Dinner and Shopping at Miracle Mile
Another spot my family and I go to every Vegas visit is Miracle Mile – a mile long of popular shops and restaurants. Whether our visit was for a cheap breakfast or a small shopping trip, Miracle Mile ALWAYS suited my needs. It is located right on the strip, which makes it a convenient place to stop and eat!
The highlight of our Miracle Mile extravaganza was my favorite purchase of the summer! I purchased the perfect pair of high waisted denim shorts (pictured below) from a little shop called Lilyful. I truly loved everything about the shorts from the fit to the wash of denim! It was a no brain after trying it on! If you have a location near you, my shorts are called the “Destroyed High Waist Denim Shorts” and they were only $35! Even better!
Sleeping at The Luxor
Since my family’s stay was brief, we picked a casino on the strip to spend our nights there! Check out what I used to get ready and unready in my makeup and toiletry bag. We decided to stay at The Luxor, which is the casino shaped like the pyramid! The hotel room was not too pricey and the casino was poppin’ even at two in the morning. We stayed during Pride week so there were tons of appearances and pool parties at our hotel and the other hotels around us. Overall, the place was functional and had many food options to choose from whenever we were too lazy to leave the hotel!
The Reason for the Trip
Keoki graduated with a class of 700+ seniors and we all gathered at his house for some great food and great conversation. He and his family used to live across the street from us in Texas so it is always nice catching up with them!
Overall, the trip was productive and enjoyable! I returned home on Monday and worked only a day because I am on my next adventure in Virginia! I visit Virginia very often during the year so I am not promising a travel diary. I am, however, spending a lot of time with my love! Finally, time to relax with the person I love the most.
