I always loved Elf products from when I started makeup as a freshman in high school. The price cannot be beat and these products would definitely be a great Christmas present for your favorite makeup-loving relative! These are my current favorites from Elf –
I first saw this beauty on one of Patrick Star’s videos. I was gravitated towards this specific colorway because it looked like the Naked Heat palette. Eyeshadow looks with oranges and reds have been trending so much lately so I feel like this palette could help you achieve a similar, if not the same, look for a fraction of the price. The shadows stay on but are a little heavy! Make sure to blend, blend, blend.
This one has been a recent buy. For years, I have been using Anastasia Beverly Hills’ brow pencil and pomade. Even though I really do like them, those products do not work well if I am trying to do my makeup quickly. Since I teach, I have to wake-up at 5:30 in the morning and be out the door by 6:30. The Elf brow pencil has a wider tip so filling in the ends of my brows are quick and easy. I just use a pomade lightly or a thinner brow pencil to tackle the front ends of my brows and BAM, I’m done!
This rounded lip pencil reminds me a lot of Colourpop’s Lippie Stix. Matte Liquid Lipsticks are very drying and regular lipsticks can be a bit heavy at times. So, I use my E.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Praline for my more natural days. The formula is moderately moisturizing and the pigment clings to the lips well. Since my skin is olive-toned, I find myself gravitating towards darker nude shades. If you want a good dupe for the Kat Von D Lolita Lipstick, this color is super similar. Give it a try!
This highlighter is ridiculous for the price. I own the Becca highlighters and the Wet n’ Wild highlighter Instagram is raving about but I feel like the Elf one takes the cake for a natural finish. Honestly, I feel like applying this highlighter could do wonders for the look of your skin even if you weren’t wearing makeup. When I go to the gym, I love to put on a little concealer (cause those bags are there with or without sleep), a light layer of powder, and this highlighter. Definitely not a good one if you are outrageously bold with your highlighter but if you’re into that subtle glow, this one is for you!
Can I just rant about how great quality these two Elf brushes are? I have tried the brushes with the white ends before and they were very thin and could not even pick up the product. THESE brushes, though, are a complete game changer! I use the Selfie Ready Foundation Brush for liquid foundations of all thicknesses and the Ultimate Blending Brush for powders like veils and bronzers. These brushes are dense and they don’t soak into the middle of the brushes. When you first get the blending brush, PLEASE just rub that thing all over your face. It is SO SOFT. If I were to pick the best out of the two, it would be the foundation brush. It’s just like the Real Techniques Orange Foundation brush but a tad bit softer and a lot more coverage.
I hope you guys try these products out. Just buy a makeup brush or an eyeshadow palette instead of McDonald’s this week! (Oh wait… am I not supposed to think about my money like that? Don’t judge me.)
